National Photographic Portrait Prize 2009 - National

The National Portrait Gallery invites all Australian residents to enter the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2009. The exhibition will be displayed in the National Portrait Gallery from 20 March to 24 May 2009 and will subsequently tour to a select number of Australian capital cities and regional centres. The Prize is an annual event intended to promote the very best in contemporary photographic portraiture by both professional and aspiring Australian photographers.

Craft ACT Accredited Professional Membership

Applications close 3 November

Craft ACT extends an invitation to all artists to be a part of the prestigious Accredited Professional Membership. Craft ACT developed this membership in recognition of professional craft artists and designers who have made outstanding contributions in their field and whose work demonstrates a high standard of artistic merit and technical skill. Membership is selected by a peer assessment panel.

2009 International Mural Fest - International

Entries by 1 December 2008, event 12-18 April 2009

Entries are now open for Sheffield's 2009 International Mural Fest. Now in its seventh year, Mural Fest has become a signature annual event for Tasmania’s Sheffield, 'Town of Murals'. As in previous Mural Fest paint-offs, the 2009 International Mural Fest will see nine finalist artists complete a 2100mm high by 4800mm wide mural in 6.5 days. Each artist uses the same poem as the theme or inspiration for their mural.
